Trimming the
Stigma Initiative

AAEW has partnered with more than 20 local barbershops and salons in Hamilton County, empowering their barbers and stylists to educate their clients about the impact of the opioid crisis on our community. Utilizing the video provided, barbers and stylists are equipped to initiate the sometimes challenging or sensitive conversation surrounding substance use. In addition to the video, each barber and stylist receives a script containing additional conversation starters, an AAEW rack card, and a guide detailing information on the resources available, accessible, and affordable through the AAEW faith-based and agency network.

If you're a barber or stylist interested in joining this initiative, or if you know someone who might be, please reach out to Maurice Gunn at Maurice.Gunn@talberthouse.org. We welcome your participation in this important effort to support our community.
